Socio-economic situation in January 2020

1. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production

1.1. Agricultural production

a) Cultivation: By the end of January 15, 2020, the whole province harvested 12,285 hectares of winter crops, reaching 82.7% of the cultivated area. In particular, 5,596 hectares of maize were harvested, equaling 97.44%; sweet potatoes 1,383 ha, equaling 95.43%; 723 hectares of soybeans, equaling 80.67%; peanut 186 hectares, up 19.74%; vegetables of all kinds 3,389 ha, an increase of 15,00% over the same period last year .... Up to now, localities in the province have planted 5,679 ha of spring crops, including 5,252 ha of rice and 212 ha of vegetables.

b) Breeding:

Livestock production in January in the province was generally relatively stable. The prevention of epidemics for cattle and poultry in the province has always been paid attention to by the authorities at all levels, sectors and localities; epidemics in the area are strictly controlled; Besides, the people's awareness in disease prevention for cattle and poultry has been raised.

Breeding of buffaloes and cows in the month continued to decrease, the number of heads decreased compared to the same period due to low economic efficiency and reduced grazing area, particularly the dairy cow development was quite strong due to the product. Fresh milk has a good market, bringing high income for farmers, so households have bravely invested and expanded production.

Poultry farming is well developed due to consumption market, no major epidemic occurred. Along with that, the price of poultry products is currently maintained at a relatively high level, people are assured to focus on development investment, ensuring the supply of products that meet well the daily consumption needs as well as during the Lunar New Year of the Rat.

1.2. Forestry production

The forest owners continue to maintain the protection of the existing forest areas, and at the same time take regular care for the planted forest areas in the first year and for the planted forest areas in the second and the third years. The output of exploited timber is estimated at 3,045 m3, up 3.85% over the same period; firewood production is estimated at 2,480 ste, up 0.77%.

1.3. Aquatic production

2. Industrial production

2.1. Production index

The industry production index (IIP) in January decreased by 31.75% compared to the previous month. Compared to the same period in 2019, IIP is estimated to decrease by 22.79%, much lower than the 18.18% increase of the same period last year due to the Lunar New Year in January so the number of working days in the month decreases. In particular, processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 23.27%; electricity production and distribution increased by 8.72%; water supply and waste treatment increased by 8.41%.

Among secondary industries, a number of high-proportion industries have a decrease in the production index over the same period last year, reducing the overall growth of the whole industry such as: Electronic components manufacturing industry fell by 6.27 %; metal manufacturing by 17.58%; manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products decreased by 22.23%; motor vehicle manufacturing industry decreased by 35.45%; Other means of transport production decreased by 36.07% ...

The remaining industries have a slight increase or decrease.

2.2. Main industrial products

2.3. Labor use index

The number of employees working in industrial enterprises in the province on January 1, 2020 increased by 0.38% over the previous month and by 5.39% over the same period, of which, area laborers State owned enterprises decreased by 6.12%, non-state enterprises by 2.46%, foreign-invested enterprises by 6.51%. 2.4. Consumption, inventory index

Consumption index of the whole manufacturing in January 2020 decreased by 32.14% over the previous month and by 28.57% over the same period last year. Inventory index of the whole manufacturing in January 2020 decreased by 3.03% over the previous month and increased by 31.04% over the same period last year, of which some industries had a decrease in inventory index such as: medicine, pharmaceutical chemicals and pharmaceuticals production fell by 64.49%; paper and paper products decreased by 64.04%; wood processing industry down 36.51%; manufacturing of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs down 16.76%; motor vehicle manufacturing industry decreased by 15.12%. 3. Investment, construction

The plan of investment capital under the state budget managed by the province in 2020 is estimated in Resolution No. 78/NQ-HĐND on December 11, 2019 of Vinh Phuc People's Council of VND 6,624.5 billion, up 4.99% compared to the plan in 2019. It is estimated that in January, the total investment capital belonging to the state budget capital will reach VND 488.79 billion, equal to 7.38% of the plan in 2020; in which, the implemented capital from the provincial budget is VND 315.01 billion, the district budget capital is VND 138.49 billion and the commune budget capital is VND 35.29 billion.

4. Trade, services and prices

a) Retail sale of consumer goods and services

In January, the month with the Lunar New Year, the market of consumer goods and services in the province has been quite active since the beginning of the month. b) Passenger and freight transportation

Compared to the same period of the last year, passenger carriage increased by 3.38%, carriage increased by 3.71%. Cargo volume reached 2,770 thousand tons, rotation reached 218 million tons.km. Total transportation revenue in January is expected to reach 376.5 billion dong, up 1.07% over the same period. In particular, passenger transport reached 90 billion, up 8.12%; cargo transportation reached 276 billion dong, down 1.21% over the same period due to the Lunar New Year in January, 1 month earlier than the previous year resulting in less transport time in the month than the same period.

c) Consumer price index

January is the month of the Lunar New Year so the consumer market is quite active, especially the days before Tet. Goods for Lunar New Year are diversified in models and types, and there is no shortage of goods. Despite the Lunar New Year, food and foodstuff prices are relatively stable. The consumer price index (CPI) in January increased by 1.10% over the previous month and by 7.42% compared to the same period.

d) Gold price index and US dollar

The gold price index in the province in January increased significantly, the price index in the group increased by 4.29% over the previous month. The average gold price on the free market is 4,253 thousand VND / thread. US dollar price on free market tends to be stable compared to the previous month. The average selling price was 22,593 dong/ USD.

5. Finance and banking

Situation of State budget revenue and expenditure:

The plan of State budget revenue in 2020 is VND 33,500 billion, of which domestic revenue is 29,350 billion VND; Revenue from import and export activities 4,150 billion dong. The estimated local budget balancing expenditure is VND 17,614 billion. In particular, expenditure for development investment is 6,474.8 billion dong, recurrent expenditure is 9,518.7 billion dong.

According to the data of the State Treasury, the total budget revenue in the area as of January 15, 2020 reached VND 613.5 billion. In which, domestic revenue was 426.5 billion dong; revenue from import and export activities reached 185.1 billion dong. Total state budget expenditure in the province as of January 15, 2020 reached VND 837.2 billion, of which regular spending was VND 491.5 billion and development investment was VND 345.5 billion.

Banking and credit activities:

Estimated to 31/01/2020, the total mobilized capital reached VND 81,000 billion, up 0.25% compared to the end of 2019. Of which: deposits of economic organizations reached VND 33,165 billion, making an increase of 0.52 %; savings were VND 46,800 billion, up 0.06%; valuable papers were VND 1,035 billion, up 0.39% compared to the end of 2019.

Total outstanding loans as of January 31, 2020 is estimated at VND 78,200 billion, up 0.23% compared to the end of 2019. In particular, short-term outstanding loans reached VND 50,950 billion, up 0.13%, accounting for 61%. , 20% of the total outstanding loans; medium and long-term loan balance will reach VND 27,250 billion, up 0.42% compared to the end of 2019, accounting for 35.80% of the total.
