Vinh Phuc develops 3 economic sub-regions

Implementing the socio - economic development strategy in 2011-2020, in the recent years, Vinh Phuc province has issued many resolutions and decisions to comprehensively develop all fields. Annually, the provincial People's Committee issues action programs to implement the Government's Resolution No. 01 on major tasks and solutions to direct and manage the implementation of socio-economic development plans and State budget estimates, creating the favorable investing environment, in which the focus is to promote administrative reform, enhance investment, remove difficulties and obstacles for the production and business development. In particular, implementing the overall planning of the socio - economic development of Vinh Phuc province in the period of 2011-2020, since 2011, Vinh Phuc has formed 3 sub-regions in economic development.

Sub-region I – the Northern midland and mountainous sub-region includes the districts: Lap Thach, Song Lo, Tam Duong, Tam Dao and a northern part of Binh Xuyen. With a large land fund for developing industry, tourism and multi-farming agriculture, this sub-region has been forming large industrial parks such as: Tam Duong I and Tam Duong II industrial parks; Song Lo industrial park, Lap Thach industrial park; Thai Hoa - Lien Son industrial park and tourist sites along the Tam Dao mountain range.

Sub-region II - the central region includes the area running along national highway 2A, highway 23 and Hanoi - Viet Tri urban railway, including Vinh Yen city, center of Binh Xuyen district and Phuc Yen city. Over the past 10 years, this sub-region has become the development center of industry, services, culture, sports, entertainment of the province with large industrial parks such as Khai Quang, Binh Xuyen I and Ba Thien I, Ba Thien II, Thang Long, Son Loi and many large enterprises contributing significantly to the provincial budget revenue such as Toyota Vietnam, Honda Vietnam and Piaggio.

Sub-region III – the delta sub-region includes districts of Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac and Southern Binh Xuyen. In the recent years, this sub-region mainly focused on developing agriculture with the strength of cultivation and husbandry. In addition, to promote the development of cottage industry and handicraft villages such as Thanh Lang woodwork village (Binh Xuyen), Minh Tan woodwork village, Te Lo and Dong Van iron and steel scrap trade villages (Yen Lac). In addition to agricultural development, concentrated cultivation and husbandry production areas have been formed. This sub-region is developing industrial clusters such as: Dong Soc (Vinh Tuong), and Minh Phuong (Yen Lac)...

According to the evaluation of the provincial People's Committee, on the basis of clearly defining the characteristics and functions of the sub-regions, Vinh Phuc has developed and implemented many specific, appropriate plans, programs and projects to exploit, develop and promote the strengths of each sub-region. As a result, since 2011 Vinh Phuc's socio-economic development has further developed and grown year by year. Specifically, the average gross output of the province increases 7.43%, in which, industry and construction increase 10.9% / year; agriculture - forestry, fishery up 2.95% / year; service sector up 7.6% / year and product tax up 2.5% / year. The economic structure has been shifted towards expanding the proportion of industry, construction and services, and reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery. Until the end of 2019, the industry - construction sector accounts for 63.13%; service for 29.42% and agriculture - forestry, fishery sector for 7.45%.

The average income per capita is estimated at 90.8 million VND / person / year, increasing 2 times higher than 2010 and higher than the national average; labor productivity increased from 76 million VND / person / year in 2010 to 162 million VND / person / year in 2019. Especially, in the period of 2011-2020, the strong and rapid development of the sub-region II promoted the growth of industrial production, in which, processing and manufacturing accounted for 97% of the added value of the whole industry and the FDI sector continued playing an important role in the economy, accounting for over 80% of the industrial value.

For the sub-region III, from accelerating the implementation of the Scheme on restructuring agriculture sector, applying new advances in cultivation, husbandry, agricultural production and the structure of varieties, plants, animals, and crop shifted in the right direction, contributing to reduce the proportion of cultivation and the proportion of husbandry increasing year by year. At present, most of the localities have introduced high quality rice varieties, vegetables and fruits to the new cultivation techniques, bringing high economic efficiency such as pumpkins, earning the income of about VND 34.7 million / ha; peppers for income of 238 million / ha. Many localities have formed concentrated production areas, creating a large volume of products to supply to domestic and foreign markets such as: dairy farming areas in Vinh Tuong, Lap Thach and Tam Dao; large-scale pig rising in Yen Lac and Lap Thach; poultry farming in Tam Duong and Tam Dao...

The socio - economic development of the three sub-regions in the right direction has created an important momentum and internal resource for Vinh Phuc to continue investing in infrastructure and urban areas. Up to now, the province has been investing in building and putting belt roads, radial roads and urban roads into use. This not only creates favorable conditions for travel and economic trade between localities inside and outside the province, but also gradually contributes to the completion of Vinh Phuc's urban infrastructure, creating an important premise for the construction of Vinh Phuc in the future.
