The Ministry of Finance continues to reduce 37 fees and charges to support businesses


The Ministry of Finance has just issued Circular No 120/2021/TT-BTC stipulate the rate of collection of a number of fees and charges in order to support and remove difficulties for those affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. The implementation period is from January 1 to June 30, 2022.

According to the Circular, there are 37 fees and charges to be reduced with a reduction of 10-50% compared to current regulations.

Many fees and charges are reduced to 50% compared to the previously prescribed fee, including fees for licensing the establishment and operation of the bank; fees for establishment and operation licenses of non-banking credit institutions; construction investment project appraisal fee; basic design appraisal fee; fees for assessment and grant of international travel service business license, domestic travel service business license; fees and charges in the field of securities (except for 2 prescribed fees and charges); fees for granting licenses to import non-commercial publications; industrial property fees; fee for filing an application for protection of intellectual property rights; fees for granting industrial property representation practice certificates, publication and registration of industrial property representatives...

Thus, in the first 6 months of 2022, the Ministry of Finance continues to add 3 fees and charges to the list of fees and charges to be reduced.

Specifically, fees for issuance of certificates of technical safety and environmental protection for motor vehicles and special-use motorbikes are reduced by 50%; inland waterway reporting fees are reduced by 50%, charges for the use of radio frequencies for the terrestrial mobile service (e.g. private messaging terrestrial mobile telecommunications network and a dedicated telecommunications network using frequencies in the mobile service, mobile telecommunications network trunk earthquake) are reduced by 20%.

The Circular takes effect from January 1, 2022, to the end of June 30, 2022.

From July 1, 2022, onward, the above-mentioned fees and charges shall comply with the provisions of the original Circulars and the Circulars amendments, supplements, or replacements (if any).
